• be an advocate for the taxpayer
• act as a real check on both the legislative and executive branches

I delivered on the pledges I gave you four years ago.
The Comptroller’s office is no longer invisible but now
a force to be reckoned with -  the independent, active office it was designed to be in the county charter.

• I set and enforced the highest standards for fiscal controls and integrity.
• My audits are substantive – identifying millions of dollars owed to the County.  
• Audits are publicly available on the County web site.
• I provided special reports: on relying on the mortgage tax as a revenue for towns and villages; on the total cost of the Dutchess Stadium to the taxpayers.

As Comptroller, I am impressed with the commitment and dedication of the County employees who work hard to provide services to the Citizens of Dutchess County. They have been
generous in sharing their knowledge and experience, thereby
increasing the effectiveness of the comptroller's function
